 Arriving from the Airport: Coqui Inn is just a 5 minute ride from San Juan's Airport. Once you pick up your luggage - go to the taxi line and find a uniformed transportation representative. The
Puerto Rico Tourism Company manages the taxi stands and transportation kiosks. Helpful employees all speak English and Spanish.
Since we've just changed our name - tell the dispatcher
or driver that you are going to the old 'Mango Inn' at
Calle Mar Mediterraneo, Villamar. They may not be familiar with Coqui Inn.
The dispatcher will give you a voucher with a set price depending on how many passengers and how much luggage you have. Rates should be approximately $10 - $15 although late night arrivals may be slightly higher.
We're on the 'Villamar' side of the highway, so your taxi driver will take the 'Isla Verde' exit near the Burger King and Howard Johnson Hotel - then swing back over the highway just after the Grande
Supermarket. You'll pass the Espana Bakery and then turn to the right just after the pedestrian walkway. You'll see our Coqui Inn sign and the door to the front desk.
 Arriving by Car: If you are arriving by car, there is parking just around the corner from the main entrance on Calle Uno. If you are arriving from the airport side, use the same directions that are listed above.
If you are driving from Santurce or Condado - take the 'Marginal Villamar' exit
and go past the Espaņa Bakery. Turn at the
pedestrian bridge and then take a left turn right away. You'll find Coqui Inn
half way down the block. Just follow the murals to the front door!
Arriving by Bus: The A-5 bus
(75 cents - exact change) from Old San Juan and Santurce stops in front of the Howard Johnson Hotel
on Isla Verde Avenue. When you get off the bus, go to the pedestrian overpass next to the Burger King. There are 40 steps up and another 40 steps down on the other side. You'll see our
side entrance just at the end of the line of palm trees. If you have luggage, or have difficulty climbing steps, you may want to consider grabbing a taxi to drop you off at our front door
in the main lobby which is half-way down the block.
 Getting Around: If you prefer to rent a car during your stay, the front desk staff can help you make arrangements with Dollar Rent-a-Car. They will pick you up at the hotel so its easy to rent a car for a day or two during your stay and explore the island on your own.
Note: A valid drivers license and credit card is required for car rental. During peak holiday periods, advance reservations are recommended.
Cruise Ships:
If you are taking a cruise from San Juan - Coqui Inn is a great choice for your
pre-cruise or post-cruise stay in San Juan. Coqui Inn is just a few minutes from
the airport. The cruise ships all dock just outside of Old San Juan -
which is approximately 10 minutes by taxi from Isla Verde. Just stop by
the front desk and we'll be happy to call a taxi for you! The taxi
fare will be metered, but should be approximately $18-22 depending on traffic
and which pier your cruise ship is located. |
